WABCO (now ZF CV division) owns the trailer EBS market and a major share of tractor ABS outside the Freightliner ecosystem. TOOLBOX Plus is the factory platform, and it is the only way to configure trailer EBS parameters and air-suspension ride-height systems properly.
WABCO coverage: engines, models and systems
Our WABCO diagnostic coverage spans every current platform and the legacy fleets still on the road. The table below maps the engines and vehicle families you can scan, code and program with a dealer-level setup. If your truck is missing, run it through the compatibility checker or ask us on WhatsApp — coverage updates land monthly.
| Platform | Engines / Systems | Model Years | Dealer Software | Required Adapter |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tractor ABS | WABCO D/E-frame ABS | 2005–2026 | TOOLBOX Plus | USB-Link 3 / RP1210 |
| Trailer EBS | TEBS-E, iABS premium | 2008–2026 | TOOLBOX Plus | PLC adapter / diagnostics connector |
| OptiRide / air suspension | ECAS ride-height systems | 2010–2026 | TOOLBOX Plus | USB-Link 3 |
| OnGuardACTIVE | WABCO collision mitigation | 2015–2026 | TOOLBOX Plus | USB-Link 3 |
OEM software vs multi-brand: which WABCO setup fits your shop
TOOLBOX Plus ($595/yr) covers ABS/EBS diagnostics, modulator tests, parameter configuration and suspension calibration. Trailer EBS parameterization — axle loads, lift-axle logic, roll-stability thresholds — is TOOLBOX-only territory that generic scanners cannot touch.
Shops that only touch WABCO iron get the most depth per dollar from the OEM package. Mixed fleets usually pair one OEM license with a multi-brand platform — see the OEM vs aftermarket capability breakdown before you spend.
What it costs — real numbers, not “call for price”
TOOLBOX Plus runs $595/yr. Trailer work adds the PLC adapter ($189) or a direct TEBS diagnostics cable ($89). Complete kit: $1,890. Fleets running European-spec trailers should also see the trailer diagnostics hub.

What's the difference between WABCO ABS and WABCO EBS?
ABS is the standalone anti-lock system; EBS (electronic braking system) manages the full brake-by-wire architecture on trailers, including load sensing and roll stability. EBS parameterization requires TOOLBOX Plus — generic scanners can only read its faults.
Can TOOLBOX Plus configure trailer EBS parameters?
Yes — axle load thresholds, lift-axle behavior, and roll-stability settings are all configurable via TOOLBOX Plus with the TEBS diagnostics cable or PLC connection.
Does WABCO software work on Haldex systems?
No — Haldex uses its own diagnostic interface. Our ABS/EBS fault-code page covers Haldex blink-code retrieval and the multi-brand scanner options that reach it.
